Who are we?
Team Change was started in the fall of 2012. It came about as part of LearnServe International, an organization that helps teens start nonprofit organizations. Haley wanted to do something with water, and Sirah wanted to work with an epidemic disease. One fateful Metro ride, they started talking and created Team Change. The awesome advisers at LearnServe helped Haley and Sirah form their idea into a reality. In December 2012, they pitched the program to a panel of judges, parents, and students. The rest, as they say, is history.
Sirah
Co-founder of Team Change, and a current senior at Sandy Spring Friends School. She plays left back on the Women's Varsity Soccer Team at SSFS, as well as the Rock Climbing team. She serves on the student government as well as the Procedures and Discipline Committee. She loves listening to music, knitting, reading, traveling, and frozen yogurt. She hopes to be a doctor someday. She frequently travels to crazy places like Dubai, Tunis, Paris, and Banjul.
Haley
Haley is also a senior in high school, and the other co-founder. She is a member of her school's Varsity Cross Country team and is captain of the Varsity Rock Climbing team. This year she is the Vice President of the SSFS student body, and plans on engaging in similar activities in college. A fun fact about Haley is that she's lived in many cool places all over the United States and in England! Her hobbies include rock climbing, running, reading, and traveling to new places and learning about new cultures.
